The Anglican School of Healing Ministries is an ecumenical training ground that is designed to give a clear and balanced understanding of healing, together with a fresh experience of the power of the Holy Spirit. It is designed to equip clergy and laity to take healing to the heart of the Church and equip its leaders to take healing into the 21st century world.

Who should attend? Christian clergy and lay leaders who have had some previous knowledge of the power of the Holy Spirit to heal, but want to learn and experience more about this reality. These leaders especially include: pastors; youth pastors; ministry leaders, especially those who head up healing teams; medical professionals, i.e., doctors, counselors, nurses, etc.

What we hope the attendees will learn from this program: Along with a personal experience with the Holy Spirit, we hope to encourage and train attendees in understanding Jesus' healing ministry on its many levels, and to gain a level of confidence in praying for healing; attendees will be encouraged to pray for healing in their homes, churches, ministries, with friends and to use healing as an evangelistic tool in a world that is in desperate need of the healing love of Jesus Christ. Participants will be encouraged to take the information they learn and share it in their churches or communities, or even begin a healing ministry in their own congregation.

Knowing that it is difficult for some people to take off four days of work, we have designed this conference with several attendance options:

Option 1: Participation in all daily and evening sessions. This will allow participants to be fully trained as healing ministers and there will be many opportunities for personal prayer and practicums which will allow you to engage in ministry with one another.

Option 2: Participation in evening and Saturday sessions only. Participants will still have an opportunity to learn in the evening sessions, as well as receive ministry. On Saturday, there will be a special emphasis on healing as an evangelistic tool, engaging in a healing outreach opportunity, as well as a brief seminar on how to bring a healing ministry into the local congregation.

Option 3: Participation in Evening Sessions only. There will be a general topic on healing covered each evening as well as an opportunity for empowerment for ministry and healing prayer.

Options 2 and 3 are designed as an option for local commuters who may not be able to participate during the day. Although these options are not ideal and will not equip participants to be leaders in healing ministry, it will give participants an opportunity to receive ministry and have a broad overview of the various aspects of the healing ministry.

Jesus said to his disciples "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues...they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Jesus associated the ministry of physical, emotional and spiritual healing with the call to discipleship and evangelism. Yet, in many churches today, the ministry of healing has been lost and most churches do not understand the key role of healing in reaching the lost. The Bible gives us many examples of Jesus healing the sick as an instrument of evangelism. If the Christian Church in America is to be effective in reaching the lost in today's world, it must recover the ministry of healing and raise up a new generation of disciples who can use the healing ministry as an effective tool of evangelism.

Aside from the valuable and informative teaching on healing and its role in our evangelistic mission, participants in the full schedule of the Healing School will also have a chance to:

  • Receive personal prayer for healing from trained prayer ministers.
  • Take part in healing outreaches to the community that will give participants an opportunity to pray for non-Christians.
  • Have practical opportunities to pray for other participants in the area of physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
  • Participate in Healing Services that will focus on different areas of healing each evening.
  • Learn how to develop a healing ministry in your own congregation
  • Further develop spiritual gifts and have an opportunity to receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to use those gifts.
