Let’s have tea!  Mark your calendars for a luncheon at noon on Saturday, May 29^th!  It’s time for us to have a Spring Fling together!  Our destination is Into My Garden Tea Room in Plano, Texas.  There will be a sign-up sheet on the Bulletin Board in the Parish Hall for the tea room to reserve the correct number of places for us.  More information coming soon!

Anglican Christians from North Texas will gather on May 8 at Christ the Redeemer in Garland to worship, learn, pray, fellowship and seek spiritual renewal in their Christian journey. There will be a healing service to end our time together where each of us can seek the Lord’s healing in body, mind or spirit. Lunch and dinner are included in the $20 registration fee. Our dear brother in the Lord, Larry Jones, went into the nearer presence of God early this morning at Medical City in Dallas. The surgeon found extensive cancer in his abdomen and Larry never woke up from surgery. A Memorial Service for Larry is scheduled at CTR for 3pm on Sunday. There will be a reception afterwards in the Parish Hall.

It’s time to get out your baking pans again!  Please mark your calendars for Palm Sunday, March 28th, which is the time we have our annual Women’s Bake Sale between services and after the 10:30 service.  Your baked goods can be homemade or store bought and can include cookies, brownies, cakes, pies, anything you want to buy or bake.  As you know, this is the fundraiser that supports Women’s Ministries.  If you do not have time to buy or bake, a small donation would be great!

The Small Group Fellowship scheduled for this Saturday from 6-8:30pm has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, April 10 from 6-8:30pm. All the Small Groups will come together at CTR’s Parish Hall to enjoy an evening of fun. There will be a pot-luck dinner so bring along something yummy to share. We will enjoy a variety of activities and a lot of good fellowship. If you have any questions, contact Mick or Kim Cortopassi.

A Safe Church training workshop will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 12:00p.m.-2:00p.m. This training covers the Children’s portion of Safe Church practices and is required for Sunday School teachers and Kids’ Club teachers. If you are a teacher working with children, but have not previously taken this training, please plan to attend this session. Any others who would like to go through this training are also welcome to attend. A sign-up sheet is located on the bulletin board next to the kitchen. Christ the Redeemer Church will host a six week educational and support program for persons experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one. The class will be led by Sharon Nelson who came to the Grief Recovery Seminar after suffering her own loss.

This is not group therapy or counseling but simply a safe place to receive comfort and understanding for those who have suffered the loss of loved ones due to any kind of separation and to share our experiences and help one another. Please feel free to join us.

Seminar begins Saturday, Feb. 13 and ends Saturday Mar 20.
Meetings are from 1 pm to 3 pm at Christ the Redeemer Church
Registration fee is $15 to cover cost of materials.
New participants will be accepted only through Feb. 20.
