Hospitality

This ministry coordinates use of the kitchen facilities, plans meals for events, and makes sure everyone has their coffee on Sunday mornings. We also provide donuts, oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs on Sunday mornings for those who have not had a chance to eat breakfast.  Different parishioners assist in providing hospitality as needed.

Intercessory Prayer / Prayer Chain

Prayer is another cornerstone of our ministry and an essential component of anything done in the name of the Lord.  We have many different prayer groups and intercessors to pray through pastoral needs.  We also have a prayer chain which is activated in times of emergency for parishioners and their immediate family members.  A weekly prayer update goes out by email to all active members so that we may have updated needs to pray through regularly.

Internet / Website

In today’s electronic world, one of the greatest means of communication is via the internet.  Our webservant volunteers his time to design and update our website, send out email updates and assist in reaching the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Jail Ministry

The Prison Ministry reaches out to detainees who are 11 to 17 year olds in detention for various offenses. We visit with them to talk about faith, have fellowship, share the word, and also lead worship services.  Background checks are required and the ministry usually visits the detention centers on Friday evenings or Sunday afternoons.

Lay Readers / Chalice Bearers

Lay readers assist with the reading of God’s word during Sunday worship services.  Chalice Bearers are those who assist the clergy in distributing the wine during Holy Communion.  Both Lay Readers and Chalice Bearers are trained and serve on a rotating basis.

Memory Makers

The bible commends us to pay special care to the widows and older women of the church.  This ministry serves as a way for these women to have regular fellowship and offer service to the church through craft projects and other ministry endeavors.

Men of CTR

Men of CTR

Men are called to take the position of spiritual leadership in their families.  Christ the Redeemer’s men’s ministry calls me to such a role.  Through weekly bible studies, monthly men’s breakfasts and special outreach projects, men are encouraged to take their leadership role seriously.

Mission & Ministry

Mission & Ministry

Christ the Redeemer supports numerous ministries and missionaries both locally and around the world. Through the Mission and Ministry Committee, a tenth of all church income is distributed to mission and ministry. This ministry seeks first to help financially those in the congregation who have hit hard times because of a job loss or unforeseen life circumstances. We also fund local and national Christian ministries and over a dozen foreign missionaries serving from Nigeria to Morocco to Peru.

If you have, or know of a need in one of these areas that you believe the Lord is calling us to meet, please contact Fr. Lawrence at the church office at 972 240-0181 or you may email him at the email address below.

Anyone in need of congregational assistance funding may make their needs know to Father Lawrence at any time. Applications for other funding must be completed and submitted to the M & M committee six weeks prior to the quarterly M & M Committee meetings. Meetings are held the second Sundays of March, June, September, and December.

Music Ministries

The music ministries of CTR are responsible for leading parishioners in Spirit-led praise, blending both ancient hymns and contemporary praise choruses into weekly worship.  The music ministers provide music for Sunday services, Wed evening worship and our monthly healing service, as well as special events, encouraging participation from everyone with ears to hear and voices to sing in support of CTR’s central theme of passionate individual and corporate praise and worship of the Triune Godhead.

Nursery

For children three and under, we have a nursery with trained and screened nursery workers to care for your precious ones during all of our worship services and most church activities.  There are toys for them to play which are sanitized regularly.  We have two nursery rooms available to separate toddlers from infants.
